Geri Taper was a renowned painter and environmental artist who lived and worked in New York City for thirty years and often used the city itself as her canvas. She dazzled audiences in the United States and Europe with her abstract paintings, luminous renderings of flowers and trees, mixed-media work in bronze, aluminum and other metals, industrial sculptures and enamels. Taper's pieces are now part of wide-ranging collections and displays at such places as the MOMA, Citibank, the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dane and Mt. Sinai Hospital. Her artistic philosophy was "I believe we see not with our eyes, but with our visions".
