Harry Mintz's artstic influences were Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Camille Pisarro, and John Constable. He particularly liked the way they used light and color. Mintz especially liked George Bellows and John Singer Sargeant. Bellow's piece, "Stag et Sharkies" was described by Mintz as follows, "the action and strength of the painting sang to me". Mintz's work is found in many permanent collections of many major U.S. and International Art Museums as well as numerous private collections.
