Rupert was born Conrad Lubnau into a German immigrant family of 9 who owned a country store in Detroit, MI. He later changed his name to Rupert Conrad. As Rupert Conrad's daughter, I was part of Rupert's life during the years of 1947-1957 in Westport, Ct. and Hollywood, FL, along with my mother, Mary and brother Ed. These were the years Rupert worked with artist Ben Stahl; he was an Art instructor at The Famous Artist's School, Westport, CT; it was his "Nassau, Bahama period", and he was creator of the amusement park Storyland in Pompano Beach, Florida.
